  • Translating online course materials on the SDGs, ECD, Climate, and many more!

    UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network

The SDG Academy has 35 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) available on edX.org and in the SDG Academy Library. All courses are available in English, but we are looking to translate course content

    The Problem this Project Addresses:

The SDG Academy has high-quality educational resources. All course content is mapped across industry-subjects and SDG-content. While the implications of the courses are global, the language accessibility remains rather English-centric. We welcome volunteer translators to help us scale up the translation efforts globally! No language or dialect is too small, we want to make sure the courses can reach their maximum audience levels!

    Region or Country Benefited:

Global virtual engagement Office is based in New York, NY. Supervisor is based in Cleveland, OH.

Where Will the Student or Volunteer Work:

    Global virtual

The Person or Team Heading this Project:

    Meredith Storey, PhDEducation Manager

    Academic Field or Expertise Sought:

No formal training nor desired academic degree is needed for this project. However, we seek individuals with a strong understanding of the chosen language. The ability to translate specific jargon is desired as well (for example, those translating a course on Climate Science should be familiar with the rhetoric of climatology).

    Academic Level or Experience Sought:

No formal training nor desired academic degree is needed for this project. However, we seek individuals with a strong understanding of the chosen language. The ability to translate specific jargon is desired as well (for example, those translating a course on Climate Science should be familiar with the rhetoric of climatology).

    Start Date for Student:

ASAP, accepting candidates on a rolling basis

    Commitment Duration:

1-full course of work; may take anywhere from 2 weeks FT to 5 months PT.

    Commitment Hours per Week:

    TBD

    Compensation:

    unpaid
